20 people had a blast on Thursday, July 17 designing the payload for the librarys high-altitude balloon launch, which will happen Monday, July 21, in the Poconos. So much to figure out: How to fit the two GPSs into the styrofoam container, how to attach the container to the balloon, how to set up the cameras, how to keep the cameras from freezing in the -40 degree C conditions at 75,000 feet, and most important, how to attach the history of Wyckoff written by the Friends of the Wyckoff Library, On High Ground, which will be the first item belonging to Wyckoff to ever make it into space!
