You may not have seen it, but you will definitely hear about. In the Detroit Lions Dallas Cowboys game today, a great game, there was a remarkable and horrible penalty reversal. The Lions had 3rd and 1. Matthew Stafford makes a pass to Pettigrew, and Pettigrew is decidedly interfered with. Interference is called and announced over the public address system. Then, the refs meet, and pick the flag up. Detroit is forced to punt. Dallas scores the winning touchdown on the next possession. You judge for yourself. Face guarding is not a penalty, but touching the receiver before the ball arrives is. Yikes!!!
