20 persons injured during protests in Kupwara. Srinagar, Aug 2 (KT): Twenty persons, including a woman, were injured during clashes in Shaloora block Kralpora of Dist. Kupwara. The clases continued for second day on water dispute. police fired pellet guns to chase away protestors in Shaloora area of the Kupwara Dist. Kralpora block and Villigam block also observed Complete shutdown. Schools buziness institutes remained closed and transport remained off for the second day. Hundreds of youth from both blocks took to streets and reached shaloora. Protestors from Kralpora block demaged media vehicle and demaged historical Pull in champora. Prosters from Kralpora block pelted stones on police and security forces deployed in strength. Eyewitness told Kalmoona Times that Police Dsp also got injured during clashes. The security forces fired tearsmoke shells and pellet guns to chase away the protestors, resulting in injuries to twenty persons including a women. The sources said the injured persons have been hospitalised. Peaceful protests were also reported from Magam handwara, Trehgam and Kralpora. (KT)
