20 years ago today on 1-11-1995 we laid to rest the wore out remains of Joyce England McDonald who was the best Mom and Prayer Warrior ever in my opinion. She so influenced a young lady that was 9 when we first met that 41 years later when Helen VanBuskirk McDonald became my wife and someone would call her Sister Mac she would politely correct them and say there was only one Sister Mac and her name was Joyce so call me Sister Helen. The only time I ever knew of that my Mom was mad at anyone in a church was when she had messed up the back seat of our new car with grease from delivering fried pies as a fundraiser for the church and some nosy gossiping saint spread it around that we was using the fried pie money to make the car payment which was not true She prayed my Dad thru many a sermon. I learned that I needed to be a little concerned when she would bow her head and pray when Dad was preaching. When she would turn around in her seat to kneel down and pray during the rest of the sermon it was time to start packing boxes we were going to move again. She prayed for me for 14 years before she went to heaven. She asked me to make her a promise that I would meet her in heaven and I did. My Dad prayed for for another 10 years before I came to myself and turned back to God. Dont ever give up praying for your family because now I love to sing and preach the Gospel.
