2013 JURIED EXHIBITION Blue Mountain Gallery December 3 - 21, 2013 • Reception: Thursday, December 5, 5 to 8 PM JUROR: Andrea Wells, Director, Tibor de Nagy Gallery Andrea Wells is director at the prestigious Tibor de Nagy Gallery, founded in 1950 and situated on Fifth Avenue at 57th St. She recently co-curated the widely reviewed exhibit Tibor de Nagy Gallery: Painters and Poets, and, in April, Jane Freilicher: Painter Among Poets. The gallery represents two former Blue Mountain Gallery artists, Rudy Burkhardt and Trevor Winkfield, as well as Louisa Matthiasdottir, Nell Blaine, Fairfield Porter and Larry Rivers. APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 1, 2013 • Blue Mountain Gallery accepts online submission only. Apply at bluemountaingallery.org MEDIA ELIGIBILITY: Two dimensional media only, including painting, drawing, printmaking, pastel and mixed Media. Sculpture, photography and digital art are not eligible. All work must be original. Work may not exceed 32” in height or width with frame. Work cannot be accepted from non-U.S. addresses. DEADLINE: All applications must be submitted before midnight on October 1, 2013. Blue Mountain will make every effort to notify all applicants of juror’s decision by October 21, 2012. FEES: A non-refundable $35.00 entry fee allows each artist to submit 1-3 images. Entry fees must be paid to Blue Mountain through the website entry. SUBMISSION: Images must be JPGs with minimum width/height of 500pixels, maximum size 3MB. Do not use spaces or special characters (!@&$, etc) in image file names. Embedded color profile recommended for most accurate color. Blue Mountain reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work. PRESENTATION: Work must be suitability framed and ready for hanging. Drawings, prints, atercolors and pastels must be under Plexiglass if shipped, but if hand delivered, glass is acceptable. SALES: All work will be for sale unless the artist informs the gallery to the contrary. All proceeds from sales will go to the artist. RECEIVING: Shipped work must arrive by Saturday, November 23 in a sturdy reusable container. Hand-delivered work must arrive on Sunday, November 24 or Monday, November 25 between 11 and 4 PM. Substitutions and late-arriving work will not be hung. Work must remain for the duration of the exhibit. Artists are responsible for shipping cost to and from gallery and for insurance in transit. Return prepaid shipping label from UPS or FedEx should be enclosed. REMOVAL: All hand delivered work must be picked up from gallery on Sunday, Dec. 22 or Monday, Dec. 23 between 11AM and 4PM. Work not removed on these days will be placed in storage and released at the gallery’s convenience. LIABILITY: All possible care will be taken with the art work, but our insurance only covers work while it is hanging in the gallery. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the work while in transit to or from the gallery. Travel insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Blue Mountain Gallery, founded in 1980, is an artist cooperative gallery that shows a wide range of artists and is frequently reviewed in the city and national press. Invitationals and juried exhibits are part of our outreach to the artist community from which we spring.
