2014 CLASSROOM MUSIC TEACHER - LUTHER COLLEGE Applications are invited from suitably qualified, relationship focussed people with a desire to positively contribute to our College through serving in the following position: Luther College seeks the services of an engaging and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join an active teaching and learning team. This is a fixed-term contract position for the 2014 Academic year. This will be a part-time position with the FTE to be determined. Applicants must be fully registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and have the ability to teach Year 7 through to Year 12 music. In addition to a cover letter, resume and list of professional referees, applicants should also provide a written response to the Selection Criteria detailed below. Applications close: 5.00pm, Friday 13 September 2013 Selection Criteria Applicants should provide a brief written response to each of the following criteria: 1. Ability to teach Year’s 7 to 12 and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies (including ICT skills) suiting the needs of a diverse range of students in the classroom. 2. Demonstrated capacity in curriculum development and implementing syllabuses, including planning, evaluation, assessment and management of teaching and learning activities. 3. Competencies in musicianship/theory and teaching music performance. Broad knowledge/appreciation of all genres of music (classical to contemporary). 4. Demonstrated skills needed to support the College’s co-curricular program (conducting or leading ensembles), along with Concert preparation/planning etc. 5. Ability to work in a team from all of the performing arts disciplines. 6. Ability to accompany students using the piano for recitals and AMEB exams is desirable.
