2014 Glo-CAF Awards: Gyan Rules Out Musa Threat -Picks Enyeama, Yaya, Aubameyang Black Stars of Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has ruled out CSKA Moscow of Russia attacker, Ahmed Musa as threat to his ambitions of winning this years African Footballer of The Year award, as he has limited his contenders to only Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, back-to-back three time winner, Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon. Making his options known in the wake of the emergence of the last five nominees in the race for the 2014 Glo-CAF Awards in January, Gyan said he believes there is no player more deserving to be named African Footballer of the Year than himself. The Al Ain of United Arab Emirates striker has been nominated for the prestigious award after recently being selected as the Best Foreign Player in Asia and feels that his exploits over the past 12 months means that he is a shoe-in for the accolade. Yaya Toure, Enyeama and the young chap Aubameyang did well, but I think I deserve it more. I think that for what I have done, I am not surprised. Talking about the qualification, I was the top scorer, the world cup I broke the all-time goal scorer Roger Millas record. I won the Asian best player award; I have been the best player for three times. “With all these personal achievements, I think I deserve the award. I was able to do this with the help of these players; if you check the statistics I think my chances are better than the rest of the players. Personally I am really happy for the nominations, there were many footballers around the world who did very well for their respective clubs and countries and so for me to be nominated, I am happy. This is a good achievement for me in my career, I want to thank my players, the Black Stars and my club. Without them I wouldnt have made it, Gyan told football411 Ghanaian correspondent Russel Wiafe in an exclusive interview.
