2014 saw another strong set of A level results, which were largely in line with expectations. Importantly, the vast majority of our students secured places at their chosen universities and they should be congratulated on their achievements. A full statistical breakdown of results will be available shortly on the website. The headline figures are that students achieved a pass rate of 99.5% (ie. 1 U grade out of 219 entries), with 80.4% of entries being awarded A*- C grades. There were a number of exceptional individual performances. Kateryna Karpenko should be congratulated on confirming her place at Cambridge University with A*A*A A, while Andrei Balalau and Behn Mapus Smith both secured their places at LSE with A*A*A*A* and A*A*A*A respectively. 30% of all students gained at least the much vaunted threshold of ABB (this year universities are allowed to accept as many high-flying students with grades of at least ABB as they can admit). In a school with a broad academic intake this is a fine achievement, and we are equally delighted with the large number of students who secured lower grades when such grades represent the peak of their potential.
