2014년도 7월 24일 목요일 말씀입니다. - 리오 목사님 말씀입니다. - “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” --Matthew 24:14 Matthew 24:14: 이 하늘 나라의 기쁜 소식이 온 세계에 전파되어 모든 민족에게 증거가 될 것이니 그제서야 세상이 끝날 것이다. In Greek, there are two words used for time—“Chronos” and “Kairos”. Chronos simply means chronological time, whereas kairos signifies a very important time of special activity, different from the norm. This is a kairos moment for Asia. God is raising up churches and preparing for the end-time harvest. On a macro level, there has been a global shift. The hub of Christendom has shifted from Europe to North America and now, things are happening very rapidly in what missiologists call the “global south,” which includes Asia, South America, and parts of Africa. But especially in Asia, the Spirit of God is on the move. And somehow, Korea has become the hub of Asia. Perhaps it is because of its location, world renowned international airport, or its global leadership in technology, economics, culture, entertainment, and even spirituality. Something very exciting and special is happening in Korea. We were created for “such a time as this.” Jesus’ promise is clear. When the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ reaches every ethnic or people group in the world, the end will come. That time may be sooner than we think. 헬라어로 시간에 대하여 사용되는 단어가 두 가지가 있습니다. 크로노스와 카이로스 입니다. 크로노스는 단순히 흘러가는 역사적인 시간에 대한 말씀이고 카이로스는 평소와는 다른 특별한 행위에 대한 굉장히 중요한 시간을 의미합니다. 지금은 아시아를 위한 카이로스 순간입니다. 하나님께서는 마지막 때의 추수를 위하여 교회들을 준비시키시고 일으키고 계십니다. 큰 단계에서, 글로벌한 변화가 있었습니다. 기독교의 허브가 유럽과 북아메리카에서 이제는 선교학자들이 부르는 Global South 에 포함된 아시아, 남아메리카, 그리고 아프리카로 바뀌었습니다. 특별히 아시아에서 하나님의 영이 움직이고 있습니다. 그리고 한국은 아시아의 허브가 되었습니다. 어찌보면 한국의 위치나 국제적인 공항, 기술과 경제, 문화, 예술, 그리고 심지어 영성까지도 그렇게 된 원인일 수 있을 것입니다. 굉장히 신나고 특별한 일이 한국에서 일어나고 있습니다. 우리들은 이러한 때를 위하여 창조되었습니다. 예수님의 약속은 명확합니다. 예수 그리스도의 구원의 기쁜 소식이 모든 민족과 열방의 사람들에게 전달이 되어질 때에, 마지막 때는 올 것입니다. 그 시간이 우리들이 생각하는 것보다 더 일찍 올 수 있습니다. >> Consider, for instance, some of these statistics. The number of practicing Christians in China is approaching number of believers in the United States. Further, on any given Sunday, more people attend church in China than all of Europe combined. Sixty years ago, the communist party tried to eradicate the church, only to find that after foreign missionaries and leaders left, Christianity in China grew 100 times (from 1 million to 100 million believers!) 예를 들어서 이러한 숫자들을 생각해보십시오. 중국에서 믿는 자들의 숫자가 미국의 믿는자들의 숫자와 비슷합니다. 한 주일에 중국에서 주님을 예배하는 자들이 유럽 전역에서 예배하는 자들의 수보다 더 많습니다. 60년전에 공산당은 교회를 죽이려고 했고, 외국인 선교사들이 떠났을 때에 중국의 기독교는 100배나 더 성장했습니다. (100만에서 10,000만의 믿는 자들입니다!) >> In 19 of the top 20 countries where Christianity is growing the fastest are found in Asia and Africa. Also, 11 of the top 20 are found in nations where the majority of people are Muslims. Not a single country in North America or Europe made the list. China has the third highest number of Christians in the world! Moreover, Indonesia has more Christians than South Korea! In India, 100 million people have become Christians in last ten years. That is about 10% of the whole population! 20개의 기독교가 급성장하는 나라들중에 19개의 나라들이 아시아와 아프리카에 있습니다. 또한 20개 중에 11개의 나라들은 대부분 회교도들이 있는 나라들입니다. 미국과 유럽의 어느 나라도 그 명단에 있지 않습니다. 중국은 전 세계의 기독교 인구 중에 3번째로 많은 나라입니다. 더 나아가서 인도네시아는 한국보다도 더 기독교인들이 많습니다! >> By 2025, there will be a Bible translated in every single language and dialect in the world. Although it used to take 13 years to translate the New Testament, due to artificial intelligence and computer technologies, it now only takes about two years to translate. 2025년까지 성경은 모든 언어로 다 번역이 될 것입니다. 예전에는 신약을 번역하는데 13년이 걸렸다면 이제는 인공지능과 컴퓨터 기술 때문에, 번역하기 위해서 2년만 필요합니다. >> Right now, churches are being planted all over the world ten times faster than ten years ago. 10년전보다 이제는 교회가 전 세계에 10배나 더 빨리 개척이 됩니다. >> Steve Douglass, the President of Campus Crusade for Christ said, “The gospel will reach every people group on earth within the next ten years!.” That is to say that it is possible that within our lifetime, there will be no more unreached, unengaged people groups. We can make history by seeing missions work finished in the 10/40 Window. CCC의 대표인 스티브 더글러스 목사님께서는 다음 10년 안에 복음은 모든 민족에게 전파될 것이다! 라고 말씀하셨습니다. 우리의 삶 가운데 이제는 더 이상 미전도 종족이 없어질 것이라는 말씀입니다. 우리들은 10/40창에 복음이 전파되는 것이 완성되는 것을 보게 되는 역사를 이루게 됩니다. >> As of 2009, Korea passed the one million mark in terms of foreigners residing in Korea. In 2011, it was about 1.5 million. Today, there are almost 2 million foreigners living in South Korea. There is no more need to pay excessive expenses to go to foreign countries. The world is now coming to this nation. We have the best and brightest from other nations coming to Korea. What an important opportunity we have as the church. God calls us to preach the gospel to the nations. The Apostle Paul says that the Gospel is the power of God to bring salvation (Romans 1:16). 2009년도에 한국은 100만 외국인 시대에 들어갔습니다. 2011년도에는 150만으로 늘었습니다. 오늘 날 남한에는 200만 외국인들이 살고 있습니다. 이제는 외국에 가는 것에 돈을 많이 쓸 필요가 없습니다. 세계가 이제 이 나라로 오고 있습니다. 다른 나라의 가장 똑똑하고 탁월한 사람들이 한국으로 오고 있습니다. 교회로서 얼마나 중요한 기회가 주어지고 있는지요. 하나님께서는 우리들에게 열방을 향하여 복음을 전하라고 말씀하십니다. 사도 바을이 말하기를 복음이 구원을 가져오는 하나님의 권능이라고 말합니다. (로마서 1:16) Jesus Christ died as a substitute for the sins I have committed. That is the message of hope for the world and the centerpiece of everything we believe in. Without a deep passion for Jesus and a real experience of His grace through the gospel, it is impossible to have a missions mindset. Only the gospel can bring real change; only the gospel can cut and shape us so deeply. The church lacks power or life because she no longer preaches the gospel. Young people leave the church because they don’t see the power of the gospel in their lives. We may talk about how to be good people, ways to help the poor, or loving one another, but without the gospel, we are no different from any other religious organization in the world. This gospel has been entrusted to us. We have specific assignments. Missions is not only for the missionaries. What does your missions field look like? This is your kairos moment. Don’t miss out on your calling. As Paul writes, “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?” 예수 그리스도께서는 내가 지은 죄를 대신하여 죽으셨습니다. 우리가 믿는 모든 것의 중심적인 소망의 메세지는 이것입니다. 예수 그리스도를 향한 깊은 열정과 복음을 통한 그 분의 은혜를 진정으로 경험하지 않는다면, 선교적인 마인드를 가지기는 어렵습니다. 복음만이 진정한 변화를 가져올 수 있습니다. 복음만이 우리들을 깊이 변화시키고 잘라낼 수 있습니다. 교회가 생명의 힘을 잃은 것은 복음을 더 이상 설교하지 않기 때문입니다. 젊은이들은 그들의 삶에서 복음의 권능을 체험하지 못하기 때문에 교회를 떠납니다. 우리들은 좋은 사람들이 되는 법, 불쌍한 사람들을 돕는 법, 사람들을 사랑하는 법에 대하여 이야기를 할 수 있지만, 복음없이는 다른 종교적인 단체와 다를 바가 없습니다. 복음이 우리에게 주어졌습니다. 우리들에게는 구체적인 과제들이 있습니다. 선교는 선교사들만의 몫이 아닙니다. 당신의 선교지는 어떤 모습으로 보여집니까? 이것이 당신의 카이로스 타임입니다. 당신의 소명을 놓치지 마십시오. 바울의 고백을 선포합니다. 그러나 믿지도 않은 분을 어떻게 부르며 듣지도 못한 분을 어떻게 믿겠습니까?(로마서 10:14) * 기도 제목 1. 복음을 심장에 두고 살아가는 우리가 되도록 - 선교적인 가슴, 삶, 생각을 가지는 우리가 되도록 - 더 큰 그림에서 아시아 선교를 품고 한국의 중요성을 알도록 2.
