2015 Clinical Leadership in Quality and Safety (CLiQS) program applications extended to 6 Feb The Victorian Department of Health and its partners, the ACHSM and La Trobe University, have extended the date by which applications for the 2015 Clinical Leadership in Quality and Safety (CLiQS) program can be submitted. Although number of expressions of interest and applications have already been received, a number of interested candidates have requested an extension to complete the application process. Interested candidates now have until 6 February 2015 to apply. The extension aims to provide candidates with better lead time to finalise the required documentation and agreements with their employers. The CLiQS program is open to clinicians working in a range of public and private healthcare settings: health services, acute health services, aged care facilities, community health services and the primary care sector in Victoria and interstate. It targets clinicians with demonstrated leadership potential – those who maintain a clinical role, ranging from team leader through to unit manager level – who want to develop and apply their clinical leadership skills. A positional leadership (people management) role is not a prerequisite. Highlights of the 2015 CLiQS program: - Won the Ted Freeman Award for Innovation in Education - Open to public and private sector clinicians from Victoria and interstate. Max. intake: 36 - $12K total cost, with Victorian public sector employees eligible for 50% contribution support from the Commission for Hospital Improvement, Victorian Department of Health - Focus is on developing applied clinical leadership skills that will also deliver organisational efficiencies - Benefits from previous CLiQS programs: reduced surgery waiting times and costs associated with after-hours operations, greater inter-professional care coordination, financial benefit to organisations.
