2015 SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION The Mountain Post Spouses’ Club Scholarship Committee facilitates and awards merit-based scholarships for eligible children or spouses of active or retired military members of the Fort Carson, CO community*. SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR... SPOUSE UNDERGRADUATE DEPENDENT UNDERGRADUATE (CONTINUING) ADVANCED DEGREE (SPOUSE OR DEPENDENT) Eligibility 1. The applicants parent/guardian/sponsor must be an active member of the United States military forces assigned to the Fort Carson area or a retired United States service member living in the Fort Carson area. 2. The applicant themselves, or their parent/guardian, must be a member of the Mountain Post Spouses’ Club during the year in which they are applying for a scholarship. 3. The applicant must apply for one of the above listed categories. 4. Residency: High School Senior: The applicant must be a Fort Carson community high school graduate during the 2014-1015 school year. Spouse Undergraduate, Dependent Undergraduate, and Advanced: The applicant must have at least one parent/spouse sponsor currently residing/stationed at the Fort Carson community. 5. The applicant must be accepted or expect to be accepted by an institution of higher education. 6. The applicant must agree to enroll as a full-time student as defined by the university/college during the 2015-2016 academic year. 7. High School Scholarship applicants must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 8. The application must be completed and be in accordance with the guidance provided in this application. (See pages 2-3 of this application form). 9. The applicant must have signed the Acknowledgement of Conditions on page 5. 10. The completed application must be postmarked no later than 14 March 2015. 11. Starting with the MPSC Scholarship awarded in 2012, each applicant may not receive more than two scholarships by the MPSC Scholarship Committee in a lifetime. *NOTE: For the purpose of these scholarship awards, the Fort Carson community is defined as a 40 mile radius of the installation.
