2016 Edo Governorship: Search for responsible candidate, Ogbemudia urges Edo people By VICTOR OMOALU Last Modified: 04/29/2014 07:09:23 BENIN CITY – Two-time governor of Midwest and Bendel States, General (Dr.) Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia (rtd) has stressed the need for the people to intensify their search for a thoroughly responsible candidate that will ensure sustenance of the even developmental strides of the present administration, come next governorship elections in the state. The former governor made the call during a visit to Ohovbe Community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State. Dr. Ogbemudia who lauded the monumental achievements of the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, noted that it was high time the people started to shop for another good candidate that will build on the legacies of the Comrade Governor, instead of waiting till the eleventh hour. “Our brother (governor Oshiomhole) has done well. So we need somebody that will take over from him,” stated Dr. Ogbemudia. The people of Ohovbe Community, who turned out enmasse to receive the former governor, applauded his landmark achievements while in office and pledged their support for him. The Enogie of Ohovbe, HRH (Dr.) Iduriase Oyenmwnesere, commended Dr. Ogbemudia for the visit, saying, “I am impressed by the visit.” The Chairman of Ijaw National Congress (INC), Chief Robinson Ogunkoru noted that Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia’s achievements while in office cannot be contested, According to the Head of Ijaws he has thrown his weight behind the realization of a better candidate that will help advance the trend of development in Edo State, “We are part and parcel of Edo State and we will rally round whatever policy that will bring about the betterment of the people.” The two-time governor was accompanied by the representatives of the Benin Monarch, Chief Solomon Ogbewe, the Uwayoba of Benin Kingdom, Eze Ndigbo, Eze (Dr) Luke Abbas, Chief Omo Osula, the Arala of Benin Kingdom amongst others.
