21 CONSTATS D’INFRACTION + 100 POINTS D’INAPTITUTE = + 10 000,00 $ D’AMENDES Samedi, vers 15 h 00, deux (2) motocyclistes d’Ottawa, âgés de 26 et 29 ans, ont appris à leur dépend que la vitesse et la conduite dangereuse peuvent coûter très chères. L’intervention policière débute quand un automobiliste communique avec le service de police afin de rapporter plusieurs dépassements illégaux et dangereux effectués par deux (2) motocyclistes circulant en direction sud sur la route 105, à la hauteur du secteur de Farrellton. Ayant une très bonne description des motos et des individus, nos policiers interceptent ceux-ci pratiquement devant le poste de police, dans le secteur Wakefield. Lors de l’interpellation, l’un des motocyclistes tente de dissimuler rapidement une caméra vidéo, mais en vain, et celle-ci est saisie par les policiers. Avec l’aide du contenu de l’enregistrement, nos policiers ont non seulement été en mesure de confirmer les versions des témoins, mais furent aussi en mesure d’observer plusieurs dizaine d’infractions commises la même journée, et ce, sur notre territoire. Lors de la discussion avec les policiers, les motocyclistes leur ont demandé d’être indulgents avec eux puisqu’ils ont besoin de leur permis de conduire pour travailler. Le conducteur de 29 ans recevra un total de vingt-et-un (21) constats d’infraction, pour un total de 10 968 $ et cent treize (113) points d’inaptitude. Le conducteur de 26 recevra un total de vingt-et-un (21) constats d’infraction, pour un total de 11 268 $ et cent seize (116) points d’inaptitude. En plus des constats d’infraction, ceux-ci devraient être accusés de conduite dangereuse, en vertu du Code criminel. 21 INFRACTIONS + 100 DEMERIT POINTS = + $10,000.00 IN FINES Saturday, at approximately 15:00 hrs, two (2) Ottawa motorcyclists, aged 26 and 29, learned, at their expense, that speed and dangerous driving can be quite costly. The police intervention began when a motorist contacted police to report several illegal and dangerous passing by two (2) motorcyclists travelling southbound on Highway 105, in the Farrellton sector. Having a very good description of the motorcycles and individuals, our officers proceeded to their interception almost in front of the police station, in the Wakefield sector. At the time of the interception, one of the motorcyclists attempted to quickly conceal a video camera, but to no avail, and it was seized by our officers. With the assistance of the content of the recording, our officers were not only in a position to confirm eyewitness’s accounts, but were also able to observe several dozen infractions committed on the same day, and also on our territory. During the discussion with our police officers, the motorcyclists asked them to be lenient with them since they needed their drivers’ licences for work. The 29 year old driver will be issued a total of twenty-one (21) infractions, for a total of $10,968.00 and one hundred and thirteen (113) demerit points. The 26 year old driver will be issued a total of twenty-one (21) infractions, for a total of $11,268.00 and one hundred and sixteen (116) demerit points. In addition to these infractions, they should also be charged under the Criminal Code for dangerous driving.
