#2326: #jhallaAdmin : long but a must read post ahead :) :) Ok, I have a HAPPY story to share. This is regarding my love for TCS. I am working with TCS for one year and three months. I completed my ILP last year December end and joined TCS Bangalore in January. I was not at all a good learner in ILP. I was known for sleeping on the last row desk and for my deadly PJs. I hated coding(still goes the same). Withing 15 days of my reporting in Bangalore I got a project, an Australia based BFS project. I could not believe I had cleared the interview for the project since around 16 freshers with a better profile than me were interviewed for just one vacancy. Anyway, I joined happily. My manager is a real good man( yes, good man). A very learned yet humble, an affable person. The colleagues were good as well( exceptions are always there) and I was given a proper KT. Initially, I was hired in the project for minor works like monitoring backups, maintaining excel sheets etc. The project is based on a leading core banking product in the market, initially I hated it a lot but slowly as I explored it I fell in love with it. Within few months I could master it to a great extent. Additionally, I was handling one more application. What happened after 6 months of joining is just exciting for me. My manager called me at his cubicle. His face shone with a smile which he always wore. There is a requirement, Do you want to go onsite? He asked. Man! I could not believe my ears, I had heard people have to wait some two-three years to get one. I did not know what to say.I had just completed 9 months in TCS. Thousand of emotions were running through my brain cells, I literally wanted to jump and shout. Hope you dont have any issues He asked again seeing my silence. Noooo...No isuues!! I blurted, ear-to-ear smile blended with an adrenaline rush in my bowels. Later, getting the visa was no easy task. My PL and GL had to convince their onshore counterparts that why they are sending a trainee to onsite. After a struggle of a month my visa was initiated but for a short term of three months. I was restless for the proceeding month. Anything could happen, my visa could be rejected for any reason(this is TCS afterall) There was no greater joy than seeing the mail of visa arriving my inbox. Next day travel request was raised and within two days I flewwwww to Oz via Hongkong( could spend a day in Hongkong due connection flight delay). No need to say that Australia was awesome. Working on client location was mind blowing. Fotunately, onsite team was also good to me( as I mentioned exceptions are always there). I had a real good time of three months. Traveled every weekend to different exotic destinations of Australia. This trip had changed my life. It fulfilled all of dreams. I could buy everything I wanted. I gained confidence to do anything in my life. I lived a life in onsite that I could never imagine. My parents were so happy. My father had something about to brag. My mother cried with joy when she came to know I am going out of India. I come from a very simple family, hence this was a big thing for all of us. Well, I dont want to make it an emotional drama. In short, I was happy and my parents were super happy. I am not denying TCS is not fair to all as it was to me. But still, as I witness it, I would say I am in love with TCS and will always be. I am thankful to my Manager, I pray for this prosperous long life. Not because he got me this opportunity, but for who he is. Thank you.
