237 years ago today, 55 men gave birth to a nation by signing a piece of parchment that, in so many words, stated were going to do it our way. Shortly before then and ever since, we as a nation have been faced with all manner of obsticles, trials, and hardships. And to our own credit, we have managed to overcome them all. But through all those years came change as a result. Success in this country was once measured largely by the blisters on your hand and sweat on your brow, and from top to bottom, great people did great things. I feel that, to a certain degree, this country has forgotten her true self. More and more people seem to only care about themselves. I submit this food for thought.... If 10 people are in a room and everyone only looks after themselves, how many people are "looking out for you"? Answer, 1. If those same 10 people only look out for everyone else, how many people are "looking out for you"? Answer, 9. Hmmm?. I know its a theory that is tough to place into practice but you get the point. Take a moment today to reflect on from where and how this nation became the, i still believe, greatest nation on earth. Look out for each other today, be grateful for what you have, and sing a heartfelt happy birthday to this, the great, United States of America.
