25 years ago today, I lost my 1st love, Benji, & the father of my first born, Yasmine Antonette to a senseless act of violence. I was 3 months pregnant when he was killed & I lost my faith in God that day. I have since regained my faith. Some memories never fade, like my love for him, the way I felt when I heard that he was killed, the days following his death, the trial, and the birth of our daughter. She looks like her dad & she has some of his mannerisms. I lost my heart, his parents lost a son, his siblings lost a brother, his nieces & nephews lost an uncle, his family lost a member that loved them even if they annoyed him. and his friends lost a loyal friend. My heart breaks every time I think about Yasmine never knowing her dad. We picked out her name & godparents the moment we found out that I was pregnant. Today my heart goes out to his mom, Nana Ana & his dad, Mr. Tifre.
