#265 Philippine Weather Update & Typhoon Watch as of 6AM 9th Oct 2014. No bad weather system affecting our beloved country. However, SUPER TYPHOON VONGFONG/OMPONG (same strength as Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan) with max gusting winds of 335 kilometers per hour by 9th 2PM over open waters is 940 kilometers away from Northern Luzon, bringing cloudiness, isolated rains & thunderstorm. Predicted to clear our dearly beloved Philippines as per forecast from various weather agencies. Thank you Lord. Quoted from PAGASA Synopsis: At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon OMPONG {VONGFONG} was located based on all available data at 940 km East Southeast of Calayan,Cagayan (18.9ºN, 130.4ºE) with maximum winds of 215 kph and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 9 kph. Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao. Forecast: Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley, CAR and the provinces of Ilocos will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and from the west to southwest over the rest of the country. To my co-Mariners & co-Masters/Captains of ships near East of Northern Luzon & Southern Japan, please be careful with your heart and be alerted by this Super Typhoon with max gust winds 9th 0600Z of 180 kts that will surely generate big and dangerous sea/swell.
