Oct. 13, AD 2014 #WordFromCurtis is THUS SAYETH THE LORD: TIME CHANGER, LESSON 5 (FINAL) John 1:1-4, Prov. 30:5 (read) The Word is spirit The Word is Life The Word is Power INTRO: In academia and general life, we point to sources each time we reference a quote. Shakespeare said, etc. And we make sure that we quote verbatim lest were penalized; the ability to fetch more marks too depend on how the candidate is able to make that quote relevant to the case under study; otherwise, theyre mere words stated. Lets relate this to our lesson... ELUCIDATION:- In every word of Christ is His standard. And you cant put forth the standards of Christ apart from His name. And in His name is authority. And without the authority of Christ mankind is merely left to compare ideas, and morality becomes a matter of opinion. DEADLY! - one person says its wrong to do this, the other says its ok if the doer feels ok. No standard is set. And thats whats happening in the world today. LIGHT:- Religions, philosophies & systems are trying to redefine THE GOSPEL and impose this redefinition on the world, even on believers. Sadly, many Christians are buying into this redefinition: SET CHRIST APART FROM HIS TEACHINGS SO NON-CHRISTIANS TOO CAN RELATE TO THE WORD, so much that every attempt to TEACH, CORRECT, REBUKE or TRAIN IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, as 2 Tim 3:16 says about Gods word, is deemed JUDGEMENT. This has also given birth to the promotion of the Gifts over Fruit of the Spirit; where people are brainwashed to chase ALL THESE THINGS at the expense of the KINGDOM AND ITS RIGHTEOUSNESS. Miracles over Holiness isnt scriptural. It is reverse-teaching & practice! Moreover, if it was only enough to say to a boy, dont steal again and hes able to stay free, then the Bible wouldnt be so important. But NO! Words alone arent enough... - man doesnt hv the power to rule over sin of any kind - such power comes only from the realms of the super-natural. Now, enshrined in the authority of Christ is such power and as we enforce His authority through His teachings, that power is ACTIVATED. The word shouldnt be presented like a mere quote read from some best seller. The power lies in THUS SAYETH THE LORD. Dont consider Jesus in the light of some wise men or famed philosophers we merely quote. Hes more than that and at the fore of His words is His authority. My teachings & my authority are like two sides of the same coin; you dont separate them. If youve heard my words, tap into my authority to activate the power over sin & honor my authority by dully exhibiting fruit that depict repentance.
