Please indicate which category you are entering below: Commercial: Elfin (small-medium) Example: Banner, car, trailer or both Majestic (Large) Example: Flatbed Open: Elfin (Small-medium) Majestic (Large) Organizations/Service Clubs (Ex: Schools, Kinsmen, Rotary) Elfin (Small-medium) Majestic (Large) Horses Banner & horse or horse & carriage etc. VERY IMPORTANT Youve done a lot of work and probably had a lot of fun getting ready for the parade, please tell us about your association/school/business etc; we’ll be happy to announce it during the commentary on Water St. (Who are you? Who contributed to your project? What is your business/service club all about?) If you need more room, please send an attachment DowntownS Miramichi – Historic Chatham Business District 28th Annual Parade of Lights Friday December 6th at 6:30 p.m. “’Ring in the Season in our Downtowns” Regulations • DO NOT have mannequins of Santa or anyone dressed as Santa on your float, Santa will be on the Historic Chatham Business District float at the end of the parade • Only registered entrants will be eligible for trophies • Entrants must be at NBCC Miramichi no later than 5:30 on the evening of the parade, as judging begins at 6:00 • It’s important for people to know who you are, so please have lots of signage. **You must have at least one sign located on the front or passenger side of your float, as we must know who you are for the commentary**** • DO NOT throw anything from your float. If you would like to pass out candy or coupons, please have someone walk beside your float to hand them out. (It is extremely dangerous for children who may dart out without looking) • The proper speed is 2.5 miles per hour (4 km/hr) • Please leave 30 – 50 feet between floats DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS NOVEMBER 29TH, 2013 Tips and Information • The theme for the 28th Annual Parade of Lights is “’Ring in the Season in our DowntownS” • The route will be the same as last year year starting at NBCC, turning left onto University Ave, Left on Hospital St, Right on Lobban Ave, right on Water continuing to Duke, left to King Street, left on Water, cross over to University, back to NBCC. • We encourage music and singing on your float • You are required to supply your own generator • Trophies will be awarded for first place in each of four categories: COMMERCIAL – Small-Medium, Large ORGANIZATIONS/SERVICE CLUBS – Small-Medium, large OTHER – Small-Medium, large HORSES One trophy will be awarded for BEST OVERALL ENTRANT Judges decisions are final and prizes are accepted as awarded CONTACT: [email protected] (TEL)778-0900 (FAX)773-3139
