2nd Year student accuses Army officer of forcing him to join militant ranks, appeals for action Budgam: A 2nd year Arts student Monday alleged that an Army officer from Dhermuna Soibugh Budgam camp is harassing him un-necessarily for past six months one or the other pretext. Tajamul Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din resident of Gotapora Soibugh, a 2nd year student from Degree College Bemina told CNS that an Army Major namely Pragh from 2RR Fox Company stationed at Dhermuna Army camp is trying to label him as militant and every now and then the said officer is conducting raids at his house accusing him of being in league with militants. “I am the father of one little girl. The frequent raids conducted by the Army Major are turning out to be ugly for my family including my wife and mother. I don’t understand why this Army Major is targeting me despite the fact that neither I have been a stone-pelter nor a militant,” he said. Tajamul Dar added that a few days back the said Army Major crossed his limits. “The Army Major along with his soldiers barged into my house and destroyed the crop in the back yard of house. When I asked him why he is doing so, he told me that that he has information that you have dumped some arms and ammunition in your house,” he said. Tajamul Dar told CNS that he informed local police post about the frequent Army raids who said that they can’t interfere into the affairs of the Army. “I appeal police chief and top Army brass to save me from this Army officer. He is forcing me to leave my house and family and join militant ranks. I am innocent and can never harm anyone,” he said. When CNS brought the issue into the notice of a top Army officer, he assured that he would look into the matter.
