3 DAYS FROM DEATH TO RESURRECTION We all know that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day based on the verse given in Luke 24:46 "And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day". (KJV) If we just think for a minute, we would ask ourselves WHY DID JESUS TAKE 3 DAYS TO ARISE FROM THE DEAD? HE COULD HAVE ROSE FROM THE DEAD THE NEXT DAY? All the answers are found in the bible. Only Jesus can teach them for us and no man can teach them. Firstly, on the FIRST DAY Jesus went to Paradise. Well this could be a different new story altogether. But yes Jesus did go to paradise. The bible tells us that Jesus told the thief that he will be with Jesus in paradise after he had died. We read this promise in Luke 23:43 "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise". (KJV) If we all believe that Jesus is not a liar like Satan, then we are sure that He went to Paradise after He died and took the other thief who had repented for his sinful deeds before he died. Jesus does what He says and it is written in Isaiah 55:11 "So also will be the word that I speak--- it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do". (GOOD NEWS) Secondly, on the SECOND DAY Jesus preached to the evil spirits bound in Hell. The bible tells us in 1Peter 4:6 "For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit". (KJV) and also in 1Peter 3:19 "By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison". (KJV) Jesus did not preach only to human beings alone, but also preached to the spirits who are in hell. Jesus spent the second day preaching the gospel to the spirits who are to be thrown in hell. Thirdly, Jesus fulfilled the scriptures by arising on the THIRD DAY. The bible tells us in Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it". (KJV) that Jesus will have victory over death. So Jesus had to come back to earth and show Himself to His disciples and to the people who came in search of Him. Based on the above findings from the bible, we come to know that Jesus did the above things on each day after His death till He rose from the dead. Jesus did not waste these 3 days, but made sure He did something useful for us to understand that He can do things even after He had died. Jesus always does things with a purpose and He never does anything without any purpose. In the same way everything written in the bible has some purpose behind them and we must read and ask Jesus to teach us those hidden purposes.
