Please see a letter below ......... *** Asalamlequm, I really was very reluctant to address you all, with this very sorry state of affair our URDU is facing in NEW Mumbai. but then I decided that I should for my Mother Tongue. Let me Introduce my self first, I am Ghulam Hafiz Sarang, Indian National resides in Navi Mumbai.I am a senior Citizen aged 65 yrs, a RETired ex Airport Manager AIR-India LTd. I was on Job at Jeddah airport for 24 years, and retired in 2005. I studied through English Medium, I did My MBA. URDU I learned from My Late Mother who was a Teacher in Urdu School in Mumbai. Accidently during this Ramdaan , I happen to come across an "urdu school" near my residence running in a very pathetic Condition. the school is run by AL HASANT EDUCATION & WELFARE SOCIIETY REGD TRUST.with about 700 students from Kg to SSc,divided into 5 such school sheds at Navi Mumbai.The above Trust is registered and is situated at a prime loction of APMC signal on Vashi Turbe link road( the Plot alloted by govt no 199 measuring 796 Sq mtrs). the Plot is registered in the Trust name, and govt has given permission to build a school to this trust to construct a building demolishing the old patra structure, which is housing these 700 students in unhigenic condition. I personally feel that we Urdu Lovers must do , share on our behalf whatever we could so that a new School Building replaces the old tin shades and the Urdu students study in a hygienic and a tolerable atmosphere.at present it is Observed taht no good Urdu teacher likes to continue teaching because of the present conditions. I dont know if , whatever I am doing is right or wrong approaching you all through this medium , If I am wrong, i woul like you to forgive me and forget that i ahve put up this request, but somone one of you can advice me how to go about such project. If you know anyone in Mumbai, or Navi mumbai, who can check on this school, or want more information can contact me or the trustees.
