This is the third and last part of my trip to London to prototype - TopicsExpress

This is the third and last part of my trip to London to prototype our new motorcycle panniers. Im really settled into life at Conan Sturdy Blacksmith now, really enjoying my time there. The workplace is LOUD! drilling, cutting, banging and simply dropping a length of metal rod onto the floor makes a deafening clang that makes my ears hurt. Conan gave me a set of earplugs on day one which I didnt use at first. By the second week I had ear defenders on, or very close at hand all the time. The funny thing was that everybody had to shout at each other and the music we played had to be at full volume! The build has progressed smoothly and now all we have to do is to weld everything up and finish fitting handles etc. We have designed several new features into our luggage that are totally new, such as secure solar panel slots and secret compartments for money and passports, etc. These simple ideas are proving tricky to implement into the build as they are throwing up some surprises during fabrication, Ill need to keep working on these to perfect them. However, in the end I get what I came for and it feels great to have the three boxes sat in front of us. All our days end with beer oclock and my final one is special. As Conan puts the last touches on to the OX Top Box, I find myself hurrying him as the sun is setting with a lovely red glow and offering a great photo opportunity, we set the boxes in the middle of the road and everybody has a go at taking pictures of them in the fading light. Thank you, Aftab, James, Mourad, Conan! also got lots of help and support from our neighbours at Vale Industrial Park, Thanks, Lawrence for the amazing folding and Steve from WindsorWorkshop for the use of his workshop facilities and not to mention Alex (apparently he used to weld Barry Sheens race bike frames).
