Sardines are rich source of omega 3 fatty acids and coenzyme Q10, which have been found to lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels. Sardines contain Phosphorous which contributes to strengthening the bone matrix Sardines B12, B12 is known to keep homocysteine levels in balance. Homocysteine levels are generally high in those with osteoporosis, and an imbalance has also been shown to contribute to damage of the artery walls. Sardines are a very high in vitamin D, which is essential to the absorption of calcium in our system. Vitamin D is now known to support our cellular regeneration cycle, and because of that is thought to be useful for cancer prevention. In summary, Sardines have fallen out of vogue but maybe our grand parents were right... and we should eat some every day! They are great a great source of preventative health care and according to the dieticians, those little smelly fish, will help lower your cholesterol and decrease your chances of getting osteoporosis, heart disease and cancer...WOW!!!
