3 points of introspection for success: 1. In 1989, when Sachin Tendulkar started playing international cricket, he had to score runs to keep his place in the team. 24 years later, until he retired in late 2013, he still had to score runs to keep his place in the team. He had achieved everything there is to achieve for any batsman. He still practised hard to stay in shape. Life is such that no one, even those who roam in territories that most others cant even fathom, can afford to live the present based on accomplishments of the past. You and I are no exception to this rule. 2. The size of your dreams cannot be greater than the size of your efforts. All of you dream of achieving great things in life. But, ensure that you put in the necessary number of hours of practice. Trust me, many life changing results can be achieved by just putting in 500 hours of effort. Isnt 500 hours too little to achieve life-changing results? Yes, it is. But, all it takes to master a piece of work is roughly 500 hours of effort. Always remember, no master piece was ever created as one master piece. It was mastered piece-by-piece. When you master one piece - by putting in roughly 500 hours of effort- youll have the tools in your hand to master the next piece. And, one piece will lead you to another. This is the how master pieces are created; This is how life-changing results are achieved. 3. Day-dreaming is a conscious activity all of you should religiously follow. The brain believes what the mind says and directs the body accordingly. Why else would you sweat or hold someone elses hand while watching a horror-movie?When you watch a horror movie, the mind tells your brain There is danger. Your brain sends a message across your body There is danger;Act accordingly. Your body reacts promptly by sweating or/and holding someones elses hand. Sweating and holding something/someone for support are a couple of common ways by which the human body reacts to danger. Re-run this sequence again. There was no real danger. There was perceived danger. The brain does not understand the difference between perception and reality. It conveys what it perceives and relays the information to the body. The body follows the instruction of the brain. This is exactly how Day-dreaming helps in achieving great things. When you Day-dream your brain believes what the mind sees as a dream as reality and relays necessary information to the body. This activity sets expectations regarding what needs to be done for the dream to become real. - Santhosh Karnananda Santhosh Karnananda, a professional speaker, trainer, author, and entrepreneur, has trained over 35,000 people.
