30 May 2014 Dear Mrs Briggs, Thank you for booking with Airtours. We write concerning your forthcoming holiday to Cuba. As indicated in our booking conditions, building work may happen, even in well-established resorts and this is the reason for writing to you now. We have been advised by the hotelier that improvements are being carried out at the SOL CAYO GUILLERMO. The information we have received from our overseas team is that work is taking place from the 5th of June until early November 2014 to install a new beach restaurant in an area to the left of the existing ¿el Ranchon¿ beach restaurant. The structure of the new restaurant has been pre-built off site to minimise the impact on guests staying at the hotel. The location of the new restaurant will be fenced off during this period and the accommodation blocks in the immediate area will be closed to guests while the interior of the rooms are refurbished. Towards the end of October the existing El Ranchon will be dismantled once the new restaurant is complete. Occasional noise and visual disturbance may be experienced within the vicinity of the ¿el Ranchon¿ and the beach in this area. All facilities available to guests at the Sol Cayo Guillermo remain open. The hotelier is committed to ensuring guests have an enjoyable stay and have guaranteed that guests will be allocated rooms away from the work during this time. As we are sure you will understand, the nature of the building activity means the situation can change on a regular basis. We can, therefore, only report on the situation as it currently exists. If, however, the circumstances change to any great degree, you can be assured we will contact you again. We remain confident that your chosen accommodation will continue to provide you with an enjoyable and satisfying holiday and we are equally confident you will want to continue with your holiday plans. However, it is only fair to remind you that, should you wish, you may change your accommodation without paying the applicable administration fees (subject to availability and receiving or paying any difference in cost) within 21 days of the date on this letter. Once again we would like to take the opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience this change may have caused you.
