30th May 2014 DO NOT GIVE UP, QUITTERS NEVER WIN, SUICIDE IS NOT AN OPTION Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you. (Amplified Bible) This is one of my favourite verses in the Bible. Unfortunately many Christians do not really have the courage to believe all that the Bible says. This verse makes it very clear that the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave dwells or lives in you the born again believer. This Spirit is the Holy Spirit. Do you really believe that the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave without any resurrection prayer meeting being done for Him by either His disciples or anyone is really in you? No matter what challenges you face in life be conscious of the truth that the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the grave is at work in you. This same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave is in you in full dosage but you need to go to a spirit-filled church and be raised/trained to become a mature Christian so that you know what to do to let this victorious power manifest in your life. Romans 10:9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved[born again] (Amplified Bible) You see from Romans 10:9 that the Christian is the one who not only confesses Jesus as their Lord and Saviour but one who entirely believes that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. Belief in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead is a pre-requisite to becoming a Christian. Unfortunately, many Christians focus only on Jesus being crucified and being dead on the cross, with a crown of thorns and His head bowed in utter defeat. Many will carry around necklaces with a dead, sad, defeated Jesus on the cross and maybe sleep with the same necklaces under the pillow in the belief that it will chase away demons so that they sleep well. This is very nice but simply a waste of time. Thank God for what Jesus did on the cross and how it benefits us today but that is a lesson for another day. Even many churches will have portraits of crosses with a defeated Jesus everywhere in their sanctuaries and almost zero if any at all depicting the resurrection which is key to becoming born again. Even in homes many similar portraits are hung on the walls. Even on coffins and tombstones people are obsessed with putting crosses on them; that is not bad but it blurs the truth that Jesus was taken off the cross, buried and resurrected. He is alive today and not dead, defeated, or looking sad on the cross. It creates a wrong mentality that the crucifixion is more powerful than the resurrection. Thank God Romans 10:9 makes it very clear that the Christian life starts after the resurrection of Jesus from the grave by the power of the Holy Spirit. This happened after the cross. Do not end your Christian life at a defeated Jesus on the cross. Be more resurrection life conscious than cross conscious. How can you possibly be defeated, commit suicide or give up on life if you are fully aware that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave is in you and has the same power to bring life and victory to all the challenges you face in life? Since you are reading this devotional it follows that you are alive, you are not even dead therefore you are nowhere near the dead state Jesus was in when He was raised from the grave. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR FUTURE. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR HEALTH. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR MARRIAGE. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR COMPANY. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR BUSINESS. DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR BUSINESS. What you need is not a breakthrough but rather allow your soul to be 100% yielded to the Holy Spirit and do what the Spirit tells you to do in Jesus name, Amen.
