32 KAR SEWAKS INVOLVED IN BABRI MASJID DEMOLITION REVERTED BACK TO ISLAM AND ENGAGED IN PREACHING ISLAM. Muslims ought to consider preaching of Islam as one of their fundamental duties, besides offering prayers five times a day, fasting during Ramadan, paying zakat and performing hajj. Preaching is indeed a performance which ensures for the preachers a place in the paradise. This view was expressed here by the noted preacher of Islam Maulana Kaleem Sidddiqui from Phulat [Western Uttar Pradesh] while addressing a gathering of students, teachers and the public at Darul Uloom, Nalgonda, on the topic: “Islam the Way of Deliverance of the Mankind”. “It was Allah’s will that the very destruction of his house become a means for the propagation of His message” he said, referring to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ajodhya on 6 Decembaer 1991.This is evident from the fact that 32 of the Kar sewaks who had taken part in the demolition have since embraced Islam and dedicated themselves to the propagation of this religion. Allah bestows his favours upon whom he wills. He pointed out that today innumerable non-Muslims throughout the world are embracing Islam after being inspired by its noble teachings. In many a church in a developed country like the US the service starts with a discourse on the holy Quran. As a result, many churches are being converted either into mosques or shopping malls. Not Only in the US but also in many other countries thousands are being attracted towards Islam. At the same time, he regretted that while non-Muslims were increasingly entering Islam Muslims were becoming heretics by embracing Christianity and Qadianism. He disclosed that in Shilling City where Muslims once constituted 50 per cent of the population all have converted to Christianity by now. Similarly, in Saharanpur, UP, which is home to dozens of centres of Islamic learning more than 300 people became heretics by accepting Qadianism. He lamented that the distancing of Muslims from Islam is their main weakness. Moreover, by dividing ourselves into many sects and maslaks we have given up the mission of preaching and guidance. As a result, Muslims are increasingly becoming alienated from their religion. He further pointed out that the Muslims fascinated by Western culture have taken to profligacy and extravagance and forgotten the Islamic piety and austerity. Rich Muslims who spend lavishly on marriage functions are respected while the Prophet enjoins austerity on such occasions. He called upon the faithful to strictly observe the teachings of the Quran and follow the Sunnah of the Prophet. He then narrated the numerous cases of domestic conflict within Muslim families whereas the neo-Muslim families were displaying religious spirit. Allah fulfils His mission through whom he chooses. He is not dependent upon any body. He surmised that if we look at the circumstances in which the neo-Muslims embraced Islam we will find that formal preaching has little to do with this phenomenon. People are either attracted to Islam by its intrinsic appeal or were forced to study Islam on their own by the hostile propaganda against it. When the truth dawned upon them they embraced Islam. Citing verses from the Quran the Maulana mentioned that if you move away from the path of Allah He will install other people in your place. Asking the Muslims to wake up from their negligence he pointed out that there was a time when other people were attracted to Islam by the noble character, pious conduct and fair dealing of the Muslims. It is no longer so. People are not accepting Islam because of the good example set by the Muslims but because of their own belief in the intrinsic truth of the original Islamic teachings. He, therefore, exhorted the Muslims to bring back the character, piety and moral conduct of the good Muslims into their lives and set themselves as models for others. One of the Kar sewaks who adopted the name of Muhammad A’mir while addressing the gathering called upon Muslims to recognize and take up their life mission of propagating Islam throughout the world. It is the sacred trust of the whole community, he said. He then narrate the sequence of events from his participation in the demolition of the Babri Mosque till his acceptance of Islam and urged the Muslims not to forego preaching as their duty because their negligence will lead many to hell and for that Muslims will be held responsible in the after-life. The session had started with a speech by Maulana Ehsan Ahmad Qasmi who introduced Maulana Kaleem Siddiqiui as a great preacher and eulogized his services in the cause of Islam. The session ended with a prayer administered by Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui.
