32 New 3 Star Coaches Qualify in Asia 17.07.2013 32 Coaches attended the three star course During the ASBC Asian Championships in Jordan, AIBA organised a course for 3 Star Coaches. The course instructor was Mr. Adam Kusior, Chair of the AIBA Coaches Commission and he was assisted by Olim Mukhamedov (Uzbekistan) and Mirzo Shamsiev (Tajikistan). Over the duration of the course, 32 coaches from all over Asia attended and successfully completed the practical and written examinations. All credit must go to the coaches for balancing the heavy competition schedule of their boxers and the intense program of the coaching course. Countries represented included: Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan China Chinese Taipei Malaysia Philippines Korea Thailand Indonesia Lebanon Qatar United Arab Emirates Iran Afghanistan Jordan The course content included seasonal planning, different boxing styles, coaching styles, the role of the coach and much more. Guest lecturers included Dr. Alexander Neverkovich who presented on the role of the Cutman in APB and Nutrition, a presentation which drew a huge interest level from the coaches in attendance. In addition, Fabricio Leclerq from AIBA Professional Boxing (APB), provided a full description of the APB structure and format, as well as up to date information on the World Series of Boxing following the draw for season four. The format of the course allowed for interaction and exchange of ideas between coaches from a wide range of backgrounds on topics such as technique, tactics, physical conditioning, mental preparation and training methods. AIBA intends to hold their next 3 Star Coaches Course at the continental championships in Africa, Americas and at the World Championships in Kazakhstan in October.
