3rd workout move to boost your metabolism! 3,4 and 5 Jog, Run & Sprint Why: Adding a blast of cardio between strength exercises helps increase the metabolic burn (think of it as fat-burning, post workout). The jog, followed by the run and all-out sprint will ensure that your legs and fitness are challenged to the max. How: Jog the 100m from the first to the last marker at a good endurance pace; your perceived rate of exertion (PRE) should be about a 6/10 (this will get higher as you get further through the 20 minutes). Turn around to face the first marker, and run to the half-way 50m marker, picking up the pace so your PRE is about 8/10. As you hit the 50m point, challenge yourself by hitting an all-out sprint (PRE 10/10) to the 20m marker, then slow to a walk to the first marker. Use this recovery to breathe deeply through your nose and out through your mouth to slow your heart rate.
