TN 22,706 - 5 pharmacies (similar to Union County) (1 pharmacy per 4541 persons) #2 - Laurel County pop. KY 59,462 - 32 pharmacies (1 pharmacy per 1858 persons) #1 - Knox County pop. KY 31,735 - 28 pharmacies (1 pharmacy per 1133 persons) #5 - Harlan County pop. KY 28,543 - 7 pharmacies (1 pharmacy per 4077 persons) #7 - Union County pop. 21,000 - 4 pharmacies (1 pharmacy per 5250 persons) #3 - Bell County pop. KY 28,000 - 12 pharmacies -- almost ties with Campbell County, TN which has lead the state of TN in meth production. (1 pharmacy per 2333 persons) If anyone wants to run the analysis differently, these are rough figures, but close. My only concern with the poll if that Knox and Laurels stats may be slightly skewed as they have shared pharmacies and such. We may be able to tighten these stats up as we investigate further. BELL COUNTY RANKS #3 out of 7 for drug stores per population, but thats with just the counties listed. I can add more to make this more regional. The number of drug stores Over in TN, Campbell County has a reputation of having a significant drug problem especially in meth production because of the logistics of the county being convenient to a interstate and some of the isolation with many hiding places that breeds a drug culture.
