4. Ditch the polite society Politeness is the antithesis of creativity. Let your people know you expect passionate debate, creative conflict, and authenticity. After all, you are working with smart folks, and what good is that if they are unwilling to create with abandon, or to risk their groundbreaking ideas for fear of being “impolite”? Emerging leaders possess a daring, courageous attitude filled with confidence, while they dismiss the rules of conformity and timidity of spirit.
