4.) Thrust were a faceless California 80s metal band who put out one LP in 1984. (their debut release was actually a split benefit LP for the people of Poland... which is extremely odd the more i think about it.) It is a rather thin sounding record and a pretty blase effort for the time. Therefore; every time I listen to it, an internal debate debate occurs whether it deserves to be in my collection... and then THIS song happens, i smile, and file it away. The tried and true heavy metal theme of eliminating posers from the scene is in full effect here, folks. I longingly daydream about these 20th century heavy metal confrontations and how fractured that scene must have been at the time since there are endless amounts of songs like these. (and a stark contrast from the punk scene where scene unity was the ad nauseam rallying cry of the time.) These days every metal show i go to seems pretty civil and tame... like was there a beatdown happening every 15 minutes at the recent Maryland Death Fest as packs of metal warriors decipher who is real and who is not....
