4 year old Ms Daisy is very scared and fearful at the Manhattan - TopicsExpress

4 year old Ms Daisy is very scared and fearful at the Manhattan shelter. Because of this she has been given a New Hope rating. So we have to find not only a foster or adopter to take Ms Daisy in but a New Hope Partner to pull her before it is to late.. Please share and advocate for Ms Daisy so we might save her... A volunteer writes: Ms Daisy reminds me of a proud and stern lioness. She was quite scared upon arrival and hiding at the back of her kennel. She is just a little shy by now. I leash her without effort and off we go to a walk in the yard where we spend time in a pen. Ms Daisy seems to be house trained eliminating as soon as we leave the premises. She likes treats and sits for them. She is still too wary to accept a bow or a coat. She is beautiful anyway without it in her perfect orange coat. Ms Daisy comes when called. She seems surprised when I pet her, a bit hand shy too. Such gesture might not have been part of her upbringing. We will never know. A gentle female comes to say hello. Cautious Ms Daisy runs to the gate, tail wagging frenetically, play bowing, her face for once all relaxed. Another dog went by, and again, same scenario. Ms Daisy seems to love other dogs… I feel so happy for her. All of a sudden, Ms Daisy has a softer attitude. She welcomes a staff greeting her. She even comes briefly on my lap and gives me a kiss…How is that ? The more we spend time with our pooches, the more we learn about them and of course, the benefit is to see progress in their behavior. I like Ms Daisy and wonder what kind of life was hers before to come to the care center. I hope that she heads for a better future than to be out in the street like she was, few days ago. Ms Daisy deserves so much better. She is at the Manhattan Care Center, wishing upon a star.
