40 South Africans , 8 of them kids , have died on our roads so far in SA TODAY! I hear this piece of news listening to Africa Melane on Radio 567 whilst travelling on the N1 from our shopping centre in Brackenfell back to my office at the Waterfront. In that time - 25 mins or so ( I drive slowly.....) , I observed at least 30 folk talking on their cellphones , a couple of folk actually sms,ing while driving and a few with young kids rattling around in their cars without seat belts restraining them. Seriously People , isnt it time to start observing these most basic of laws? We dont have the manpower to police every road but why does that stop us from policing ourselves? What is it about us that make us cock a snoot at authority when those laws are there to protect us. Seriously!
