4th of october last saturday saw Mitch Brien Racing hit the new improved Valvoline Raceway for the first race of the season 18 cars lined up to do battle for the opening night. Mitch starting from P6 on the first heat and getting a blinder of a start to second in the first corner thats were he would finish behind (1st Adam Clarke DNF) and (Dean Meadows 2nd. The second heat saw Mitch starting out of P5 were the car was hooked up on the bottom picking them off one by one passing Nathan Smee for 2nd and Adam Clarke finishing 1st. Feature time starting out of P8 (handy capped start fastest to the rear) and it wasnt the start he was looking for dropping back 3 spots into P11. 20 laps were on the board and Mitch consistent on the bottom managing to pick them off one by one making his way up to 4th waiting for a yellow flag to come out so he could have a shot at the front runners unfortunately it was the reds that came out due to a car flipping and the race being declared with 6 laps to go going back a lap due to the crash Mitch finished 5th.
