This volcano time-lapse is truly stunning - THE NEWS 25 JUNE 2014. Photographer Q.T. Luong has created a volcanic time-lapse video of Hawaiis Big Island, and its nothing short of amazing. Luong, who has photographed all 59 U.S. national parks, calls the video a sea-to-summit project, the majority of which he completed in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. One of the most mesmerizing spectacles of nature Ive witnessed is lava flowing to the ocean as clouds of steam rise from the meeting of fire and water, Luong writes on his website. Though he had to fight wind, rain, and freezing temperatures to capture the activity of the Halemaumau Crater in the Kilauea volcano, which is among the worlds most active volcanoes, the resulting video is definitely worth it.
