You may have seen the recent posting on the Destination Dunoon facebook and the subsequent Dunoon Observer and Argyllshire Standard front page headline “Get Down In Dunoon”. This event a PA23 BID initiative to re-establish a music festival in Dunoon will take place on Friday October 31 and Saturday November1, the event shall be a combination of free pub based gigs venues yet to be announced the gigs taking place on the Friday night and Saturday daytime, with a ticketed headline performance by the Edinburgh based nine- piece ska band Bombskare at Dunoon Burgh Hall on the Saturday evening. The musical theme for the festival is “MOD” and there is also a Scooter Rally planned for the Saturday afternoon. DCRs Saturday night weekly programme “ NO DANCING IN THE AISLES” presented by Vinnie Thoms celebrates Along with seventies British Northern Soul, the youth cult of the British sixties Mod movement all meaning so many things to so many people and still with us today and regularly features full length “Suited and Booted” He will be joined by other DJ’s including Luke and Rupert who regularly feature Mod Favourites with special programmes to help celebrate the Dunoon “Mod” Music Festival
