5/28/14: WHY AM I HERE? Blog #1 I am your average single mother. I work 45-50 hours a week sitting at a desk crunching numbers and certainly not burning many calories. My daughter Lyric is two and a half going on twenty and keeps me on my toes. Prior to getting pregnant with her I was already overweight. My overweight body packed on 52 more pounds! (Miraculously they didnt fall off once the baby came out as I thought). After a year of carrying around 30 of those 52 pounds I decided to make a change. I used INSANITY along with diet to lose 45 of those pounds total. Now, I am stuck almost back and my pre pregnancy weight still overweight. However I have always been a curvy thicker girl what prompted me to start this? A perk of the corporate world is to give you a health screening every year to remind you how unhealthy youre getting sitting at a desk. After 2 years in a row being told my triglycerides are through the roof, I decided that I choose LIFE. I need to be around to watch my daughter grow up. I will not lose life to bad habits. SO, I am encouraging you to follow me first on my 21 day challenge. How am I going to fit this in my daily life REALISTICALLY and I NEED YOU to motivate me to continue! Goals: Fit into my skinny jeans that make my behind look fantastic. The same jeans that have been in my closet for 8 years unworn. Get to a healthy weight and get those triglycerides DOWN Have more energy to run with my kid. Lets face it as little energy as it takes to sit at a desk all day, IM TIRED when I get home! FEEL BETTER! Network with others on the same mission. How do you fit this into your life? What changes do you make every single day to be healthier and more active? Encourage and inspire others who dont feel they have the time or money to live a healthier lifestyle. Share others success stories! THINGS I AM NOT: A SALESMAN. I am not going to preach product to you to make a profit. I am simply going to blog my story, get inspired and hopefully inspire others. A FITNESS FREAK: I fall on and off the wagon. I love pasta, bread, pizza and ice cream. I COMFORT EAT!!! How can I balance my life using the 80/20 rule? A GYM RAT: I dont own a gym membership. Why? 1. not in the budget 2. Impossible for a single mom to find daycare 3. Unwilling to leave my daughter everyday for an hour after being away. Id rather pound out 30 minutes in my living room WITH her. A SIZE 2: I am realistic. I am never going to wear a size 2 pair of jeans. I am not built for it and I never will be. I enjoy my curves and intend to keep them....just firmer :) and last but not least:RICH!! I am on a VERY strict budget of ONE income. Its much EASIER and CHEAPER for me to stop at Wendys for a 1.99 happy meal for my childs dinner then it is to cook a fresh healthy meal. Balancing budget and time is going to be a big challenge I will NEED your support for.... I hope by having all you follow me, my motivation will be on overdrive. I have already succeeded using a Beach Body Product, how will I do with the fix? AND living life AFTER the fix?
