5 Entrust your ways to the LORD. Trust him, and he will act on your behalf. 6 He will make your righteousness shine like a light, your just cause like the noonday sun. 7 Surrender yourself to the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes. ~ PSALM 37:5-7 (GWT) ~ ENTRUST, (PUT your trust IN)... It’s real, and it’s real active! One of the most dangerous things in our society today, is the kind of belief that so commonly exists about what “real faith” in Jesus Christ is all about. We are extremely cautious, not to come across as being, “too religious” or devout in our lives with Christ. Therefore, we typically settle for just enough “Jesus,” to make us feel good about ourselves, but never enough Jesus to be of any real use to His kingdom, or to live at peace with ourselves. Placing our full trust in Jesus Christ opens the door wide for the profound promises of His Word to be revealed in us. Otherwise, all we have is a weak hope, and powerless prayers. Surrendering to Him, which is the only way full trust can be exercised, keeps our heart humbly positioned before the Lord. Surrendering to Christ gives way to a new (and right) PREOCCUPATION of our lives—our new obsession is not ourselves, things, or even others—it’s Jesus Christ.
