5 states 8 schools only a military wife can understand... this is my 2nd school closing (experience 1 in Newport News, Virginia and Columbus, Georgia). I have taught children who had parents that were in gangs..dead bodies on their playgrounds...seen parents chase each other with bats...teachers getting windows burst during school hours...children who are privilege .. children of doctors, lawyers etc..modern families...foster families..and children who were homeless..children from other countries.. Children of those serving in the US Military....EVER YEAR THESE CHILDREN AMAZE ME WITH HOW MUCH THEY LEARN..EACH YEAR MY STUDENTS MEET OR EXCEED THE STANDARD...ALL my students make gains..SO I can tell you from REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES people are people .. children are children.. and I promised God if he would allow me to teach that I would treat each child as my own and make them feel special while they are in my presence...As I start my new assignment..I know that this placement was meant for me because God does not make mistakes...I prayed the way my grandmother taught me..asking to be placed where I am needed...so I am elated to be selected to teach at Georgetown Elementary..keep me in your thoughts...
