5 things I would do if my pedal came off on a Slow roll. 1. NOT PANIC. Carefully pull over to the side and find the pedal. Yell out asking if someone picked it up, good chance they did. Pedals rarely break, they more likely just come loose. Even if the plastic broke, find the threaded stem. re-install, go. 2. If you cant find the pedal, find something. A stick, a piece of metal, something lying around that you can wedge into the crank that will at least let you push down. (you should have some basic tools with you, MacGyver something) 3. Use your shoe lace (or something) and tie your foot to the pedal that is still there. This will allow you to pull up on that pedal and make a complete revolution with only one leg. 4. Make a new friend. Ask someone to tow you. Slow Rollers are nice, cool people. Use a spare tube (which you should have) as a tow strap. My buddys chain broke a few rides ago. Thats how I towed him. It was kinda fun. 5. Do the old push / coast. Push / coast. Push /coast. Like a skate boarder. This is the Slow Roll after all. We go slow. We make frequent stops. Bottom line: Come prepared. Dont panic. Improvise, make it work. Ask for help. Have fun and keep it positive. Peace All.
