50 years ago today I was walking down the hall in my high school. I was taking some papers to the office from my teacher and everyone else was in class so the halls were empty and quiet. I was smiling and humming a Beatles tune as I did not have a care in the world and was looking forward to the Thanksgiving dance at the local youth center. Suddenly my world was turned upside down and my life changed forever as the announcement came over the loud speaker - the President has been shot while in a motorcade in Dallas. I will always remember that awful day and the following days as we watched the funeral on TV.
