58 years ago today, my family arrived in Australia, by boat, from UK. Some of us were 5 pound Poms, those with chronic illness paid full fare. The next day, in 41 degree heat , my father and elder brother started work at the Northcote Brick Works making bricks. The rest of us settled in to life with relatives, and heat! Over the years, my parents bought a house, working 12 hour shifts to pay it off. Medically, those with chronic illness fared well, and went on to work hard. We live in a country where we can express an opinion , make decisions for ourselves, get what we need by hard work. We are truly blessed . Happy Australia Day everyone!! Have a beaut day!
