(5a) Husbandryof Maize (5ai) Climatic and soil requirement - Maize requires a temperature of 26degree celsius- 30 degree celsuis -Rainfall of between 75cm-150cm per annum and -Drained sandy loamy soil of PH 6-7 (5aii) Method of propagation - Maize is propagated by seed -Maize seeds can be planted manually by stick or cutlass or mechanically by planter (5aiii) Planting date -Early maize is planted between march /april -Late maize is july/august - Maize (early or late) isalso planted, depend on location and rainfall (5aiv) Spacing: 90cm *30cm at one seed per hole or 75cm*25cm at two seeds per hole.
