6 years ago today actually a Wednesday 6 years ago I arrived at the Morehead inspirations center via the Healing Place of Richmond Va at 1 pm, on the way there from my grannies house in wheelersburg I tried to figure out a good plan on why I didnt need to go into long term treatment again the whole hr and fifteen minute drive down there I tried to come up with reasons not to go, here are some plans I tried that completley failed 1 I had my grandmother stop at every rest stop on 64 due to not having a cell service coverage to try and call and prolong my arrival date it was a fail due to every phone being out of order at them too, 2 I even tried to convince her I was good and didnt need to get help I had the answers little did I realize I was a buck fifty nine soak and wet boy was I full flight and 3 when we arrived I had plans to just walk in and use the bathroom when we arrived and walk out and tell her they didnt have a bed for me till next week well My higher power intervened and my granny look at me and did two things in all 33 years of my life she never did one was she looked at me and in a calm voice she replied no get your shit and get out of my car,,,,I believe I had a moment of clarity at that moment,,,, I realized I wasnt the only one sick of Bj,,,, I have embraced the day and have never forgot the day the pain and the misery I was in that day,,,it has been my drive to never ever want to feel or be in that dark place ever again and now its full circle Im the one who talks to crying mothers who want to help their sons more than their sons want to help themselves or sons who try to convince them they arent that bad,,,,,,Im so grateful for the gift of desperation I was given on August 20,2008 and the old timers who told me when I came back to sit down shut the f$&k up and listen and its only by the grace of God an awesome sponsor and a wonderful support group that today I celebrate 6 years of sobriety and clean time,,,,,thank you,,,,
