60 days from today, Ill be departing Afghanistan for the last time to return home permanently. Its hard to believe Ive been here 27 months. It has been a difficult and positive experience all wrapped in one. Ive grown and learned so much personally and professionally. Ive learned to deal with chaos in every aspect of my life all at once, but at the same time, Ive learned to appreciate life even in the most difficutl circumstances of the moment. Ive learned up close and personal how precious and short life is. God has blessed me and watched over me every single minute Ive been here. Im also still figuring things out too as Im both excited and dreadful of the return home as the adjustment will be steep and challenging for many reasons. But as the card my mom sent me says, take off the floatie and trust God, because he has had me in his protection when it was raining rockets all around me and when there was nothing but chaos in every aspect of my life. I look forward to reconnecting with all my friends and family, the best anyone on earth has, thats for sure!
