7-23 LEST WE FORGLEST WE FORGET THE PROMISES OF GOD “The victory that you seek is in the wisdom of God” LEST WE FORGET THE PROMISES OF GOD “The victory that you seek is in the wisdom of God” “Spiritual Warfare” I was staring at this title before I started to type my message, and wondered how many people will pay close attention to what I am saying about spiritual warfare? How many people will go to God after this message and ask God to deliver them from the spiritual invasion of demons in their life? I want you to cry out to God and ask for deliverance. Here are just a few of these demons that can come into our bodies; because we opened the door for them; from a child you were very angry, that opened the door for a demon spirit, or you thought that you were better than most people; you were very lustful, or jealous; you were bitter at your parents; you have low self esteem. There are so many other things that can open you up to demon spirits and they will stay there until God delivers you, or you are in a ministry that believes in casting out demons. There are so many wonderful christians that are bound up and need deliverance. We should seek deliverance if we know that our character has changed from bad to worse; meaning abnormal behavior. Eph.6:10 finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might **The scripture is telling us to be continually strengthened; which one does by constant faith in the cross; this power is always at our disposal. The source is the Holy Spirit, but the means is the cross. Many have fallen away, because the enemy has convinced you that you do not need the church, or the fellowship, just you and Jesus and my bible; that is satans aim for all of our lives is to isolate ourselves from the church, the national anthem in hell is “I did it my way.” Vs.11 put on the whole armour of God (not some but all) that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (this refers to the “stratagems of satan). Vs. 12 for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places **Our foes are not humans; however, satan constantly uses human beings to carry out his dirty work. (1) We are wrestling against principalities, which mean rulers or beings of the highest rank and order, in satans kingdom. (2) Against powers the rank immediately below the “principalities,” (3) Against the rulers of the darkness of this world These are those who carry out the instructions of the “powers” of spiritual wickedness in high places; this refers to “demon spirits”. We will finish this lesson tomorrow on “Spiritual Warfare”. “Spiritual Warfare” I was staring at this title before I started to type my message, and wondered how many people will pay close attention to what I am saying about spiritual warfare? ET THE PROMISES OF GOD “The victory that you seek is in the wisdom of God” We are continuing with the study from yesterday, concerning the family and the “noisy fan”. May the Lord bless this teaching so that many families become the family which God will get glory from. Eph. 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. **This means to be under authority. As well, it refers to parents who know God. If not, they are to be obeyed as far as possible, but not in that which violates scripture. Vs.2 Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; **all of this is important because family government is designed to be an imitation of the government of God. Vs.3 that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth **as should be obvious, failure to obey carries a penalty. (Deut.5:16; Exodus 20:12) Vs.4 and, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord **This refers to the fact that fathers are to raise their children in love and not the opposite; they should be raised according to the ways of the Lord, in His Word. Ephesians 6th ch. Begins with a command for children to obey their parents. **God first wrote this divine command on the two stone tablets given to Moses. This commandment contains a principle of submission to Godly authority that is first recognized in the home. This is pleasing to God and follows his divine plan of order in the home. This command is accompanied by a promise of long life and blessing. It flows naturally and can be demonstrated generationally. **Fathers, in particular, are commanded not to exasperate their children, that word “exasperate” means to make somebody very angry or frustrated, often, by you “doing something repeatedly” or “annoying”, to make an unpleasant condition or them feeling worse. Unrealistic expectations, impossible requirements, and unfair comparisons will cause these feelings in a child (or a spouse) and should be avoided. **Fathers are to raise their children in an environment that is filled with Godly instructions and training. This includes “teaching and modeling” Godly behavior before your child. Let them see you pray. Live the Word “daily”. Be honest and fair in your dealings with them. Be faithful to your wife and “glorify God in your speech”. When you live a Godly life in front of your children, and they will take your “model” as what is “normal”. 7-22 LEST WE FORGET THE PROMISES OF GOD “The victory that you seek is in the wisdom of God” Eph. 6 is the continuance of the family and the roles and responsibilities of each person in the family, each member in the family play a very important part in keeping the family operating smoothly. It is the same as a fan, “the same fan that gives you so much comfort and joy if every bolt is tight and the right bolt in the right place”; will give you so much joy and comfort if every bolt is tight and the right bolt in the right place. We all know that if there is a wrong size bolt in the wrong hole, that same fan that gave you comfort will become nerve wracking, “ because there is a bolt out of place” and there is another bolt in that hole that should not be there, which causes this fan to run lopsided and noisy and nerve wracking. Now, your fan is running wobbly and making noises that it should not be making because of that one bolt being in the wrong place. Did you hear what I am saying, just one bolt out of place causes that system to run rough and very nerve wracking to you, and cause you many sleepless nights, especially if that fan is in your home, When the wife moves into the wrong place that will cause the fan to run rough because she is in the wrong place, (she is not the head) when the husband is out of place, and not being in his rightful position that will cause this system to run rough and not give the comfort it was intended to be. Some of you might not be getting what I am saying because you never had to deal with a raggedy fan that was making noise all night when it was 90 degrees at night, and a raggedy screen that needed the screws in it, so it rattled all night, all it needed was the right screw in the right place. When the children are out of place that will cause this system to run rough and the comfort and joy that you had at one time is a pain in the neck because of everybody being out of place, the father (who God put in the place of leadership in the home) the wife ,( who is out of place in the home,) she will not humble herself under the leadership of her husband,( whom God made the head,) the children are out of order in this system (because mom is out of order) so again back to this mobile system, it is still blowing out cold air but it no longer gives the comfort that it was to give to the family because the wrong screws are in the wrong holes which causes the fan to run noisy and therefore it no longer gives you the comfort that it was intended for. The family should be a place of comfort “but it is not” because of certain ones not lining up to the masters plan. I sort of got caught up in all this talk about the noisy fan, can you imagine if you were in church with this message, we never would get out of church, I cut a lot of corners because of the time. I hope that you see that I was not blaming any particular persons, whoever you are, the husband, the wife, the children, you need to get in line and line up with the authority that God assigned to you, and if “we” would do that there would be less divorces, especially in the homes of Christians, God set up the authority in your home whether you want to accept it or not. God is the head over Jesus, Jesus is the head of man, man is the head of woman, and the children come under the authority of father and mother, children you have no authority until you get out on your own and then you can make your own rules. Tomorrow we will look at the duties of the children, I hope that you will be interested in this teaching so that you will be blessed all of your life, pass this email on and help somebody that has a family. 7-19 LEST WE FORGET THE PROMISES OF GOD “The victory that you seek is in the wisdom of God” **We left off here on yesterday. I pray that there were some things from yesterday that helped you to see yourself. Eph.5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it Vs.26 that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word **This actually means the “Word” washes and cleanses one exactly as water; and, the view, of the final presentation of the “Church” in perfect holiness at the coming great day. Vs.27 that he might present it to himself a Glorious church not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, (which the cross alone made possible for believers); but that it should be Holy and without blemish. **This is our position in Christ, made possible by the cross. It is Christ himself who is to present the Church; and He is to present it to Himself. Vs.28 so ought men to love their wives as their own bodies **It is proclaimed in this manner because “they are one flesh”; even as Paul will say in Vs.31. He who loves his wife loves himself (this proclaims the oneness of the sacred union of marriage). Vs.29 for no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church **The Holy Spirit is using here the union of the husband and wife to symbolize the union of Christ and the church. These scriptures are so clear that you would have to hire somebody to help you misunderstand what the Holy Spirit is saying about marriage and the responsibility of the husband and wife; Vs.30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones **we are the visible parts of the body of which He is head; and, this is the reason He nourishes and cherishes the church. “His flesh” and “His bones” speak of the incarnation, and the giving of himself on the cross, which made it possible for us to become part of Him (Rom. 6:3-5). Vs.31 for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh **While the man continues to love his father and mother, his primary love is now for his wife; and this union is meant to symbolize Christ and the church. Vs.32 this is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church **This mystery had not been revealed before; this presents the Spiritual fact that a believer can become one with Christ as a member of His body, symbolized by the husband and wife relationship. Vs.33 nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; **(the husband is to love the wife as being part and parcel of himself, according to the divine idea of the marriage union); (Vs. con’t) and the wife see that she reverence her husband. ** (this means to recognize and respect his position as spiritual leader of the family). If the husband or wife makes demands on the partner, of which, Christ alone can meet, the pressure will become intolerable. No human being can fulfill that which, Christ alone can do; which is the cause of most problems in marriages.
