7. Access When Child Support is Not Paid A parent should not keep another parent from seeing their children even if child support is not paid. The law assumes that it is usually good for a child to have a relationship with both parents. Keeping a parent from seeing his or her child is considered punishing the child. The law will not punish a child because his or her parent fails to pay child support. The law gives parents who do not have custody “access” to their children so they can spend time together. Access can be refused or limited only if the parent’s behaviour is likely to harm the child. The courts will not refuse access because the parent does not pay support. And the parent with custody should not refuse access for this reason. There are other ways to get support from a non-paying parents.. Now this is for deadbeats that dont pay or care...so why am I getting denied access when that beautiful baby girl is all I ever think about and the reason why I live my life the way I do. I think that doing this to the both off us ( me and baby) is a shame on you type of deal.. nothing like walking into a room and seeing that babys eyes open right up and the big olé smile on her face when she sees her daddy..we have soo much fun together and she is soo sad when I go :( I can just imagine what she must be thinking when Im not ALLOWED to see her like when is my daddy coming or why cant he stay makes me Soo sad that this is what some people have to go through. But all I can say is that my life changed when I saw her for the first time and to keep that from me is never going to happen so you better be prepared to fight to the bitter end with me cause Im not going to let that beautiful angel slip away!!!!!!!! Sorry for serving you with custody papers I had to do it and I knew that this would happen. But the future looks bright. EMAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
