7 Positively Healthy Things To Do When You Wake Up The morning is an important time of day. Think of it as the foundation for the entire rest of your day. Youre given the choice of grabbing a poptart and some coffee in a styrofoam to-go cup, or you can set yourself up for success with these 7 awesome healthy tips. 1.When you wake up, drink a glass of water. No need to slam it. Each morning when I wake, I fill up a 24 ounce jar of water and drink it within the first 30 minutes of waking up. Doing this helps start up your digestive system and get the juices flowing. 2.Forget your phone and email for the first hour youre up. This is one I should apply to my life more often. I never have anything to look at on my phone or in my email until about 10am anyway. Those days that I dont go staring at my electronics first thing, Im more clear-headed. 3.Step outside. Take a deep breath. Fill your lungs with fresh air. I love the crispness of autumn myself. Just take this moment to remember that the whole world is alive and so are you. 4.Think about something youre grateful today. This helps you feel positively throughout the day. Today Im grateful to have a safe home and that my dog didnt wake me up with his farts last night. Seriously, its that bad. 5. Get up. Move around. Not necessarily an intense workout, but do some jumping jacks or head out for a short walk. Do a little bit of stretching. Something to get that blood flowing 6.Eat a healthy breakfast. Extra points if you put down the fruitloops and try to eat something real, like smoothies or this kickass oatmeal recipe. Seriously, youll be glad you did. 7. Say something positive to yourself. Here are some of my favorites: Wow! Nice ass. People like you. Hey, youre really cool. I enjoy knowing you. Woah! I had no idea you were this awesome. Jeez, look at you brushing your teeth, youre someone people want to know.
